Cones set the deep zone. Coach feeds random balls to forehand or backhand. Player tries to hit the ball into the deep zone.
Depth is the tool that generates easy put-away shots so players have to spend significant amount of time on learning how to make the balls deep. Coach should always remind players why depth is important and emphasize the placement of the ball in each drill.
In this drill player works on hitting the ball deep from forehand and backhand side. By feeding random balls coach forces the player to react and hit deep from all kind of balls. Coach should tell players to focus on the last zone of the court and encourage to miss long than into the net. If the ball is too short players should hit higher over the net to lengthen the trajectory of the shot.
